What does the weather mean to you? This is a simple question I ask in search of answers. What do you feel when the heavens open and the rain hammers down at a relentless pace? Do the grey clouds and the gloomy atmosphere make you feel downbeat even though you felt upbeat mere moments earlier? Perhaps a change of scenery changes the gloom and turns it into glee but what if there is a change in scenery but no change in your mood?
Days where you look up at the sky and see nothing but blue should be days to be particularly cheerful especially as the Sun’s rays of light are at their strongest but what if having got rid of the uncertain clouds, you still feel reason to be downbeat. As humans, we all go through these patches of difficulty in our lives and the weather can sometimes feel like an accurate forecast of your current situation. The difficulties can be stressful as much as they can be long-lasting and although the skies may be blue, in your world, devoid from reality, it’s nothing but grey.
To find peace in your mind, you need to find bluer skies, a sign of things to change but more importantly, a turning point which sees momentum working in your favour. You may need to work hard to get to that turning point but when it does come, the rewards will be great. Never give up on your dreams and aspirations because the blue skies will never come like that and instead only darkness will exist inside your head even though in reality, its the middle of a beautiful day in summer.
Don’t slack off either, the blue sky only stays like that for a period of time before it changes to nighttime and then when the daytime returns, overcast skies now look down at you, perhaps a sign that what you have done in the past has to be consolidated in the present so you don’t suffer in the future. Slacking off is dangerous, let it happen for too long and you will not make proper use of the momentum life gives every now and again as a boost to keep you within distance of your targets.
So going back to my original question, what does the weather mean to you? The weather works in two ways, the way it operates in regards to everyone as a whole and the way it operates in regards to you as a person. This means that the weather that everyone bears with may not be the same weather you bear with for example days of bitter coldness for you could be paralleled by days of warmth for everyone else and by putting in the work to get to where you want to be in life will the thermostat go up, raising the temperature and lifting a weight off your shoulders.
Whatever climate you are in, whatever season plays out, wherever you are, look for the clear skies even if it’s staring you in the face when you can’t see it because someone’s else happiness is not your own happiness.
